Flower Video

This is the "coles notes" version of the real video I wanted to upload.. In my post below this one I could not get a video to upload, so here it is. The one I had was of Ben watering the flowers and then going to fill up the watering can with more water and then on to more plants, but it is too big to post - I'll have to do some figuring out later. Anyway, here he is with his plants....so precise!

Mr. Ben and his Buddy

I am finally getting some "fun time" on the computer today - no work to do today! Ben is asleep and the laundry and dishes are going, so I thought I'd sit down and relax for a bit while updating my blog. I looked at the date of my last post...it has been a while! We were supposed to have a lunch date here with my friend Kate and her little guy Mack, but he just got his 6 month shots yesterday and is not up for a playdate...he is such a cutie! It feels weird not having anything to do when Ben is napping...

I am still going through some of my Fairmont photos, but I got a few really cute ones emailed to me from Niki - her parents are my mom and dad's neighbors in Sherwood Park and they have a condo in Fairmont as well. We met up with Niki, her husband and 3 kids as well as the Vogels, my parents neighbors for dinner one night and then at the petting zoo the next. It was so much fun and we got some great photos of the kids.
I have put those ones up and am also trying to add a cute video of Ben watering flowers at Granny's house. He loves flowers! Every time he walks by them, he has to stop, bend down and give them a sniff...anywhere we go - it is cute! I may need to add the video after - I am having problems with it....

Dave turned 29 on Tuesday. I had my cake class and Dave had to run and do a job, but before he left we had a great dinner, some yummy brownies for desert and opened some presents. Ben and I got him some balloons earlier in the day and did some decorating. Ben loved the balloons. When Dave got home, I asked Ben to "show daddy what we bought him". I thought he would go and get a present, but he ran to the corner of the hallway and grabbed the bouquet of balloons and then carried them to Dave....he was grunting with such a big smile - very proud of himself....

OH, one more thing!!! My little man now takes the garbage out for me! Well, not OUTside, but I give it to him in the kitchen tied up and ask him to take it into the laundry room and put it beside the back door. He will carry it (or sometimes drag it) to the laundry room, set it down, open the laundry room door and then proceed to take it into the laundry room...it is so cute to watch because when he is done he lets out a big sigh and brushes his hands off. He even takes the big blue recycling bag out there for me - do I have it good or what! ;) He loves being my little helper during the day and I love every second of it too!

Family Trip to Vancouver

Here are a few photos from our quick 4 day trip to Vancouver. I wish we could have spent more time there visiting with everyone - we had a lot of fun. Ben had a blast as well! He remembered my Uncle Booga as soon as we got there - it was funny because he had met him 2 weeks prior to this here, but only saw him for 2 days and then didn't see him again until we got to Vancouver. I was not sure if he would remember him or make strange, but as soon as he saw him, he smiled and wanted Uncle Booga to carry him. Ben got to meet Auntie Rose as well and all of the family there. Dave, my parents, Richard and Rachelle were in a golf tournament while we were there and then we all got to visit afterwards at my cousins' house. I wish we didn't all live so far away....it was a great weekend!

Most of these photos were taken at a Provincial (?) park...I can't remember the name, but it was absolutely beautiful. We sure miss out on places like that living here, not having these gorgeous beaches to spend the day. It was a lot of fun! Ben got to go on his very first airplane, bus and boat ride while we were there....he did great on all 3 and was fabulous in the car as well. He made mommy very proud! We also did a lot of restaurant eating while we were there. Dave and I hardly take Ben out to eat because we always assume the worst and figure it is just easier to be at home - he was so good and had such good manners it was great! I think our fear of dining out has been conquered!

So for all of you complaining about no new post....I hope this didn't bore you too much. I'll try and get my Fairmont photos up in the next day or so too!

Oh and also....I will be getting a new sister-in-law in a few years....yep - Richard proposed to Rachelle when we got home from Vancouver and she said YES! Her ring is gorgeous - he did a great job picking it out! Slowly but surely the ladies are starting to gain on the guys in the Cote family... ;) I think they are planning June 2011 - it should be a lot of fun!

I'm still here....

I have had quite a few people bugging me lately about not updating my blog more regularly - you all know who you are ;) I promise to sit down and get our holiday photos up tonight....once I have baked, typed and cleaned....it will get done! My girlfriend Colleen and her family is getting ready for a big move this week. They leave in October, but they have to pack up a big sea crate now and ship it off because it takes 4 months to get to Qatar...crazy! Seeing her blog and looking at the photos of all her boxes and talking to her today on the phone makes me so sad that she is actually leaving! Dave and I are so happy for her and Mike and their kids and excited for their upcoming adventure, but so very sad to see them leave for 2 years. The nice thing is that Colleen and the kids will be back in the summer for a few months...lots of catching up will be taking place for sure in the Summer of 2010!!!!!

I promise I'll be back with some photos and stories tonight!
